Kyle Dean Massey and Ciara Renée have some magic to do! The pair are joining the Tony winning revival of Pippin as Pippin and Leading Player respectively, beginning performances April 1 at the Music Box Theatre. They will replace Matthew James Thomas and Tony winner Patina Miller, who will both take their final bows in the production on March 30.
Massey most recently appeared on Broadway as Fiyero in Wicked. Other theater credits include Next to Normal, Xanadu, Lucky Guy and Altar Boyz. His screen credits include Inside Amy Schumer, Up All Night, Hart of Dixie, Cupid, The Good Wife, Sex and the City 2 and The Contest.
Renée made her Broadway debut as The Witch in Big Fish. A recent graduate of Baldwin-Wallace College, she has appeared in workshops for The Hunchback of Notre Dame, The Hamilton Mixtape, Three Little Pigs and Bull Durham.
Pippin features music and lyrics by Stephen Schwartz and a book by Roger O. Hirson and tells the story of a young prince searching for his corner of the sky. In addition to Thomas and Miller, Pippin currently stars Annie Potts as Berthe, Terrance Mann as Charles, Charlotte d’Amboise as Fastrada and Rachel Bay Jones as Catherine.
